A very decisive point in the development of high-class audio system is to review the results. In all measurement technique that is available to us, the ultimate touchstone is the sense of hearing. A metrological perfect speaker does not guarantee that it realistically reproduces music.
Therefore we use the subtle perception of musically trained ears as a testing method. Who might be suitable to judge the sound of a loudspeaker more than a musician, who know exactly how their instruments should sound.
